In 2015, she received her M.A. in Museum Studies with a concentration in Collections Management from the George Washington University.

This is Jen Torres, the Collections Technician at JHAM. Each week I will be posting updates on my projects at the museum. I’ve been working here just over 6 months and have been rehousing and photographing the museum’s collection as part of an IMLS grant that was awarded in 2014. Over the past 5 weeks I have photographed over 450 objects in the collection. This week I’ve been focusing on capturing images of the museum’s extensive collection of shabtis. Shown here is a raw image of one of my favorite captures this week, a faience shabti from Thebes, Egypt.
