Ritual, Control, and The Cup

This paper will discuss a Wheel Made White Painted Ware I cup from the Cypro-Geometric period and its connection to ritual culture and shifting powers within the island of Cyprus. Migrants including Phoenicians, Mycenaeans, and the Sea Peoples struggled for control making lasting imprints on native culture. These impacts included changing material culture, and the ways in which it was used.
