The Lost Shrine of a Lost Queen: Reconstructing ECM 1888
An enigmatic and peculiar piece, object number ECM 1888 is a wooden shrine facade bearing the names of 18th Dynasty pharaohs Hatshepsut and Thutmose II. It will be historically and geographically situated in the context of Hatshepsut’s reign through discussions that are art historical and philological in nature. Additionally, physical investigations and comparative analyses of the piece will reveal potential workshops of origin.
