Jar with Blue Zigzag Trail
By Nicole Berlin
This colorless glass jar is globular in shape and sits on a concave base. The four cobalt blue handles were separately made and connect the rim to the shoulder. It is decorated with two thin, horizontal blue trails and a zigzag trail below. This common type has been found in many fourth to fifth century CE graves throughout the Syrio-Palestinian region.
